Chin Implants

In many cases a patient requesting Rhinoplasty will look at our computer imager and request a nose that is much too small for his or her facial features. Almost invariably, they are trying to match their nasal profile to a weak chin. When the lower portion of the face is too far back, even a normal sized nose appears to be too large

This is also apparent in some patients with a problem neck line. If the distance from the throat to the chin is too short, no amount of tightening will give an ideal appearance. A chin implant can be placed from inside the mouth or through a small incision beneath the chin. The advantages to each should be discussed with your surgeon. The procedure generally takes less than 30 minutes and down time is minimal.
