About Dr. Joel Studin
Dr. Joel Studin is known in his field as an innovator, a teacher and as a sought after cosmetic surgeon. He has been in the field of plastic surgery since 1985 and is Board Certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester and his medical degree from The Mount Sinai School of Medicine.

To be board certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery, a surgeon must complete an approved residency of at least five years after medical school. That surgeon must then wait a minimum of two years before sitting for extensive written and oral exams.
After completing board certification, a surgeon may then apply for review of his or her credentials and practice to become a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, (FACS). This process can take another two years. Dr. Joel Studin is both board certified and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
In addition to his private practice, Dr. Joel Studin is on staff at North Shore University Hospital and St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital, where he participated in training new plastic surgeons. He served as Chief of the Department of Plastic Surgery of Deepdale Hospital and subsequently at Little Neck Hospital. He is or has been a member of many national and regional societies. Dr. Studin worked with Laser Surgery at Harvard Medical School, and has maintained a strong interest in this field ever since. He is one of very few surgeons to be certified as a preceptor by Coherent, Inc. and subsequently Cynosure, Inc. to teach Laser Facial Surgery, Laser Eyelift and Smartlipo. He has traveled extensively and has taught over a hundred surgeons these techniques. Surgeons have frequently visited his office to observe how these procedures are done.
