This advance in breast lift surgery involves minimizing the incisions, which involves much less trauma to the breast, so healing and discomfort are tremendously less. Dr. Studin has used this procedure successfully in well over a thousand patients. You go home the same day, and in most cases, if surgery is Wednesday, you are back to work or school on Monday!

1 Hr Procedure

Breast lift surgery usually takes only about an hour in my practice and is done in my accredited private surgery center with a board-certified anesthesiologist. The anesthesia is very short-acting so you wake up quickly and feeling much better than with older types of anesthesia.

A long-acting local anesthetic decreases the need for pain medicine, because if you wake up comfortable, the need for pain medicine is MUCH less and you just feel BETTER! If you meet a past patient, the vast majority will tell you that this system allowed them to have their lift with little or no discomfort at all and they were out and about in just a few days.

Breast Lift Techniques

Dr. Joel Studin has many years of experience doing thousands of breast lifts. There are several techniques used for lifting the breast. It is important to understand the difference.

The lollipop (LeJeour) lift

The donut (Benelli) lift

The anchor lift

The crescent lift

The lollipop (LeJeour) lift

The lollipop lift is allmost always the procedure of choice for Dr. Studin. It results in the least possible scarring to get the best result. The incision resembles a lollipop on a stick in its appearance. It goes around the edge of the areola and straight down beneath it. There are no additional incisions made, and there is also no cut made under the breast. After the procedure, the breast is given a lifted appearance, giving the impression of more youthful vitality, and it also feels more firm. The amount of scarring is usually slight. Dr. Studin almost never uses drains for this procedure, making for an easier recovery!

The donut (Benelli) lift

For patients who have just a very slight breast droop, a single incision that encircles the areola can be done to correct the condition. The breast skin is pulled tauter, and the nipples are moved to a more aesthetically attractive position while doing so. This procedure has significant limitations though, that you need to discuss with the doctor before you decide whether or not to request it.

The anchor lift

An anchor (Wise pattern) lift is the oldest method of breast lifting. An incision is made that encircles the areola, descends vertically to the breast crease, and then runs horizontally along the inframammary fold in this procedure. This creates the shape of an upside-down "T" or an anchor. Dr. Studin almost never uses this procedure as it results in much more, and usually unnecessary scarring of the skin.

The crescent lift

Individuals who have only mild to moderate sagging of the nipples and areolae, might be good candidates for the crescent lift, which is one of the less invasive forms of breast contouring. An incision in the shape of a half circle is made around the upper edge of the areola in order to move the nipple and areola upward. The breast itself is not lifted with this procedure.

What To Expect From during your consultation

A breast lift is a surgical technique to address sagging breasts and restore an appearance that is fresher and more youthful. The first step in breast lift surgery, much like the first step in any other surgical operation, is a consultation explaining the procedure in detail and going over pictures of previous patients. That way, the doctor can decide with you if this procedure will help you achieve what you would like, and which technique will be best. You also need to see if additional enhancements, such as breast implants and areolar reduction should be planned as well. If you are a good candidate and would like to go ahead with a breast lift, your surgery date will be scheduled.

What is a Breast Lift?

A great number of women are unhappy with the way their breasts look and are looking for a technique to regain a more youthful appearance. Age can cause changes to the breasts. They frequently lose their rigidity. In addition, they become less elastic, which means that after the skin is stretched, it does not immediately return to its original position.

A breast lift is a surgical procedure that is performed by a plastic surgeon to change the appearance of the breasts by tightening the skin of the breasts, removing extra skin and reshaping the underlying breast tissue. A breast lift also raises the breasts along with the nipples and areolae. Mastopexy is another term that can be used to refer to a breast lift. A breast lift is a procedure that could also be considered if either your breasts or your nipples point in a downward direction and sometimes, in different directions. A breast lift is not intended to make your breasts larger or smaller. A breast lift, however, may be performed in conjunction with breast augmentation or breast reduction.

A breast lift can improve the position of the nipples and reduce the amount of sagging in the breasts. Additionally, the surgery has the capability of lifting the darker areas that surround the nipples (areolae). The size of the areolae may be reduced so that they remain proportionate to the newly shaped breasts even after the procedure has been performed.

Most patients for breast lift have:

Drooping breasts that have lost their shape and volume or become flatter and longer.

Nipples have sunk below your breast creases.

Nipples and areolae that face downward.

Large stretched areolae abnormal in comparison to the size of your breasts.

Breasts that point in different directions.

Breast Lift Recovery

When you wake up after breast lift, your breasts are numb from a long- acting local anesthetic. You should not feel much discomfort at all. While most patients go home within an hour or so, it is possible to stay overnight with a nurse if you would like. You will be in a soft, supportive bra. Dr. Studin almost NEVER uses drains for a breast lift. He has not found them necessary.

Days 1-5: You will be taking medication, as directed by Dr. Studin to avoid any significant discomfort. you will stay at home and take it easy, as you do not want to raise your blood pressure and you want to allow the effects of anesthesia to completely pass.

Days 5-14: Most patients will return to work or school, albeit with limited activity. You will not be lifting anything heavy or doing any significant exercise. Driving can be resumed at about a week comma but discussed with the doctor at your postoperative visit.

After Day 14: you will go back to limited exercise, concentrating on lower body. At four weeks, most people can go back to upper body workouts.

Your stitches all dissolve on their own. Showering can begin a few days after surgery. You will begin scar treatment at about two weeks as instructed by Dr. Studin or the nurse.
